If you are new here, you must know I have a slight obsession with swimwear. I would rather spend my last bit of money on a swimsuit rather than something I need like gas… or food… The past couple of years have been a hit for swimwear, with the increasing number of swim lines to the constant changes in style.
Recent trends have ranged from: the strappier the better, one piece wonders, and hello high cut; but this summer has seen trends that really hit me with 60-80’s vibes (which I live for). I’ve accumulated a few of my new favorite swimwear lines and their best styles.
Pop Of Color
I am all for a simple, chic look, but there is something about the way a pop of color for a swimsuit can really bring out a hard earned tan! A few of the colors that are hot this summer are: reds, yellows, and various shades of blue. I feel orange will be making its way into our closets soon as well!
Vintage vibes are all the rave this past couple of swim seasons, but I have to say high cut takes it home as being the best look yet. A High cut suit is perfect for anyone wanting to accentuate their legs–curvy, short, tall, skinny– literally anyone can pull off the look!
Aside from high cut swim, the next classic look has to be the “bra-styled” swim tops. They are flattering and if the material is ribbed; add some bonus points. Monday swimwear is my favorite when it comes to this look because they have the most beautiful cut–in my opinion. However, my favorite blogger/creator Matilda Djerf collaborated with Etes Swimwear and designed the most beautiful vintage inspired line.
Finally, the last vintage vibe making its way into our hearts, is the belted swimsuit. I remember getting my mom one of these in the early 2000’s and never thought it might be a trend again, but hey… never say never. The Onia Swimwear line has shown up on my radar for having the most perfect belted swimsuits for one pieces and even two pieces (hard to find). I do not have a Onia piece, but I’ve tried one on in TJ Maxx and it was the most flattering and comfortable material I’ve ever experienced.
Patterns with swimwear will never go out of style, but every season there is a new style that comes around that has us pulling out our wallets. This season we are seeing Cheetah, Giraffe, polka dots, and stripes all over the map! I thought to myself “I love the cheetah print look, but I could never pull that off”, now I have one from LaHana swimwear and it is to die for. Pictured above is a LaHana swim style (the same on I have) in their giraffe print.
Ah! The simple look. I remember when everyone couldn’t get enough of bold swimwear and now there are countless companies selling similar simple swimsuits (try saying that 5 times fast), but for some reason, I can’t get enough.
